Default Jumpy Start

Lately when i completely step on the gas from a complete stop, or come close to the floor, my car always jumps before it really gets going; it jumps so hard that it rocks my head. Its beginning to annoy me, and i am wondering if its normal. I just dont recall it ever happening until recently.
thanks!

Default RE: Jumpy Start

A thread came up a while ago about, what sounds like, the same issue. It was determined that if you stomp the gas from a stop it takes the DSG a minute to catch up with what you're doing. If you give it light throttle for about half a sec and then floor it the DSG should react normally. The jekring effect is probably more pronounced on the 3.2 as well because you don't have turbo lag factored into the equation, just power on demand.

Before this started, were you driving like a granny for a long period of time? Long highway trip? I've noticed that if I'm on the highway for a long period of time I tend to really take it easy on the throttle (++mpg) and then when I get into town the DSG has adjusted itself to the easy driving style and it kinda hesitates when I floor it. It should catch back up with your driving style after a bit, or you can go disconnect the battery for like 15 mins to clear its 'memory' and then go out for a drive an just beat on it. It'll re-learn real quick!

Default RE: Jumpy Start

Ya thats what i figured!
I thought that cause the tires only spun a little bit, and then the DSG caught them, THEN the car went. Thanks for the clarification!!!
Have a good one!
