I own a 2002 A6 3.0; kinda bored; looking to get some subtle mods done. will a K & N intake make a apparent change? If not, what will? Thanks-

no. the stock airbox in our cars are suprisingly efficeint. a simple K&N drop in filter will do. however a cone filter setup will make your car sound more throwty. but you really wont see any gains out of it

i think you should put a cold air intake on. I did it to mine and it made the turbo sound better and the stock ones are really restrictive

Well, you're half right. The turbo will definitely spool up louder, but from the collective experience here, what Bondga said is the case - the OEM induction system is pretty efficient, and it's very likely that any gains you feel will really be a placebo effect.

Not a horsepower gain per se, but as the others mentioned, you'll hear the difference. The biggest performance gain is going to be a quicker turbo spool-up.
