Default Audi Coupe GT Problem!

I am working on a friends 1986 Audi Coupe GT one of the nicest of them left in Sapphire Blue Met.
Except it has a problem where it is not getting fuel to the combustion chambers, but it has pressure is at the break point ,up front (steel Pipes with conections) near bulk-head.

I suppose it has not much spark ,as the fuel is shutting the ignition off? Have tried another ECU the same, that got the fuel pump back! as before I changed it there was no pressure.

So its from the mixing unit through any ideas where I could be losing the fuel? the pump is working otherwise the system would not be under pressure and have checked with direct 12v at pump anyway.

Any ideas will be moost welcome.

For all the later Audi maniacs there is a problem with ECU's getting wet in the bulkhead area, this is stopping vehicles from starting as the water is getting into the ECU's e.g. 90's models A3 as an example.
