Before i put my forge DV in

What should i do, i read about washing it and oiling it but i would just like some more info.

You don't wash it, or oil it. You clean it out, then regrease it.

It should be fine for some time, I check mine when I change the oil, & clean them only if they are dirty, or leaking.
