audi recall

I just bought 2 month ago a 1997 a4 2.8 quattro. I'm wondering if all the recall has benn done on this car. How can I check that? Should I go to a dealer? Also , the cruise control and the interior door lock are not working. Any ideas of what could it be? Thank Remi |

you can call an Audi dealer and give them your VIN #....they can check for recalls and confirm if they have been done on your car.As far as the two other problems...sorry can't help you there.

Another way to check for recalls is carfax. If you run a carfax on a car and there are pending recalls that have not been done yet carfax USUALLY will let you know.
As far as the other things. Could be a number of things, try checking some fuses first. |

I'll call a dealer tomorrow.
For my cruise control , I check all the fuses and they're all ok but the onwer manuel said that the cruise control fuse is at position 11. If i look at the position 11 in the fuse box it's a spare , there is nothing connected at this place. |

From what I've read around these forums, these problems usually come down to a bad relay or switch somewhere. Try seeing if you can trace the problem back to its origin, otherwise it looks like you'll need some dealer help.
