I5 = Inline 5 Cylinder as opposed to I4, I6, V6, or V8 The motor and stock turbo can handle about 250-275 hp before you need to really start beefing things up. The CIS fuel injection that comes on the cars works until about 220 hp, then you need to go with a stand alone and EFI setup from either 034 or Megasquirt. If you plan on going for 250+hp, don't even waste your money on anyhting for the CIS, start out with an EFI setup and tune from there. There are a few bolt on turbo upgrades that will put you in the 300hp range, but you should build the motor with ARP studs and some stronger rods before getting that far into it. If you really want to go crazy, there are some people who have built 450hp 10v motors with HUGE turbos and water/meth injection, using custom intake and exhaust maifolds and front mount intercoolers with CO2 coolong. Buyt they aren't really streetable cars.
