satellite radio receiver for A8
Greetings! I am trying to locate a satellite radio receiver for my 2004 A8. Sirius or XM, it doesn't matter. I just don't want to go aftermarket if i can avoid it. I want to be sure to get the right model number. Any help?

RE: satellite radio receiver for A8
Your car is already pre-wired for satellite radio, you just need to go to the dealer and have them install it into your trunk and activate it.
The modules (XM or Sirius) are $500 however. |
RE: satellite radio receiver for A8
thanks! i was hoping to maybe find an xm or sirius tuner for less money on eBay, for example. I've seen them for under $300, but i know you have to be careful to get the correct model number.

RE: satellite radio receiver for A8
I purchased an XM module for my 04 A8 for $97.22, then had to buy the brackets to mount it in the trunk, $28.37. Total amount..135.32
I mounted it myself with no problem whatsoever! Called XM with the serial # and viola! Now the Sirius model was very expensive. Somewhere near $500!! No problems so far with the XM. Purchased in San Diego, CA Hope that helps Part # 4EO-057-593-A for XM module Part # 4EO-051-517 for the bracket |
RE: satellite radio receiver for A8
Thats a good deal you got for the XM module, the prices are supposed to be the same. They might have had an overstock on XM modules or you got a used one which is perfectly fine.

I wonder if the XM module would be the way to go seeing as the merger will now allow both modules to get SIRIUS if IIRC

No the module was in the bag with all the paper work and such...signed sealed delivered and I was good. Purchased from a dealer and was told by dealer it was new. Anyway, it works just fine. Sirrus is still more expensive no matter what. Why? Don't know, but who the "f" cares.
