Just found out my front brakes and all four tires failed inspection  I ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle F1's and as for the brakes the mechanic said he uses aftermarket products  (not sure name brand).  He said he has to replace the pads but and will try to fix (sand down?) my rotors.  Is it worth fixing rotors or buying new given I'm putting on 4 newtires at the same time?  Any thoughts on slotted rotors?  My appt. is tomorrow.

I thought I see if anyone had any thoughts on reasonably priced pads (and possibly rotors) that will produce minimal dust (wheel dust drives me bonkers).

thanks in advance for your thoughts.

These are pretty good.
http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brakes.jsp?&make=Akebono&model=Euro+Ceramic+Pads&group=Euro+Ceramic+Pads&autoMake=Audi&autoModel=A6+2.7T&autoYear=2004&autoModClar=&perfCode=P

A colleague of mine bought it from Tirerack for his A6 4.2. There will be brake dust no matter what, but because they are ceramic, the brake dust will be light grey in color, that you will not get noticed for few weeks.

I had rear rotors and all pads replaced this summer.  My indie used Centric pads.  They seem to work fine and there is little to no brake dust.

I've heard Akebono makes good dust free brakes.

I just put Akebono ceramics all the way around and so far they are very low dust.  I rarely need to stop hard so I don't know how well they do for performance applications but I like the pedal feel better than the old stock pads.

Just my 2 cents

Dan

heard Green Stuff (EBS?) is great for dust. MIntex maybe too?
