Hey guys, complete noob here, this site is awesome. I'm about to buy an A4, and I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a couple of questions. I hope you guys don't mind, I would really appreciate it.

1. I'm looking at this '07 A4 Quattro with 18k miles but the Carfax said it was a Corporate Fleet Vehicle, one owner. I asked the sales guy @ Riverside Audi in NJ, and he said it means an Executive Demo. But I googled "corporate fleet vehicle" and it seems like it can also mean it was owned by a car rental company like Hertz or something? Do you guys know anything about this or where I can find out more about the car history than Carfax? Would you recommend not purchasing fleet vehicles?

2. Two cars I'm choosing between so far:

A. 2007 A4 3.2T Quattro - 18k miles - Nav/Bluetooth/Convenience packages = $31k (5.9% interest) Corporate Fleet vehicle

B. 2006 A4 2.0T Quattro - 8.5k miles - Nav/Bluetooth/Tech/Premium packages = $27.5k (2.9% interest) Return from Lease (One owner)

I'm not going to have to scrape pennies for Option A, but do you guys think it's worth the $3.5k and 10k more miles for 3.2T and 1 more year of warranty? Any help would be really great. I hope to be purchasing soon and be coming here often. Thanks!

hope i can help out a bit -
the engine layouts are 2.oT / 3.2

the 3.2 is a V6 - non turbo.

I would lean towards the 2.0T if your interested at all in tuning / upgrading
you car performance / engine wise...
not to say you couldnt tune the V6 - but just to begin w/ your platform is tuner-friendly. (chip etc)

I also think option B is better bec. of the lower miles / lower interest etc. etc.
and the tuning options.

In terms of which to buy thats hard to say. Personally I would go for the one with more horsepower. I drive an A6 so I am not entirely familiar with A4's but I have driven a few. The turbo version of the A4 or A6 is truely the way to go if your into that extra pep. Although you will find more liters in the non turbo, its not till you get into the A8's that those liters out preform the turbo versions of the lower end audi's. Something else to keep in mind, the Audi warranty is a 50k full coverage for everything outside oil changes. All services, brake shoes, and just about anything else you can think of is covered. With that in mind, you have several thousand miles left to discover any issues the car might be hiding. I would certainly think twice about a rental. Fleet cars might be more protected but anyone thats ever driven a rental knows that they arent the only one who drives like a maniac. Now that I think of it, do you suppose that the fleet car is audis loaner car? Part of that 50k service plan I was telling you about includes a free loaner A4 for everything but an A8 owner. They go through a lot of A4's at the dealership and thats no different then a rental car. Have you looked into a slightly older A6? They are a lot more car if you dont mind driving one thats 05 or 04. I bought my A6 2.7T for 26k and it only have 36k miles on it at 3 years old. I thought it was a prety good deal and it certainly wasnt the only one in that price range. I tried to find one with low miles since I knew the warranty would take care of any issues. Also consider the 100k certified preowned warranty that will cover lots of other stuff after that 50k warranty runs out.
