2000 A6 4.2 sport, 99,000 miles, still running smooth. only major things i've had to do was timing belt replacement and have the center dif rebuilt due to an outer pinion bearing going south.

75k miles.
Did the 75k service with TB/WP/tensioners/All filters.... at 70k miles. Oil changes every 5k. Changed ALL coil packs, two CV boot, rear window regulators, and the DARN Auxiliary water pump... and redid all brake pads and rotors last year, plus brake fluid flush... wihtout mentioning all the mods!

This is some great news! Especially for someone considering purchasing an A6, like myself.

Unfortunately too often you just hear the bad and not the good. They say that if someone has a bad experience they tell 100 people and if someone has a good experience they tell only 10 people.

Exactly Quattrophilly! It gives me a warm fuzzy seeing these mileages on these cars and people still loving to drive them. I hope I can get 350,000 on mine too, the car is just soooo nice to drive and fun in the snow.

Man.. you guys all have such low miles... :D

2000 A6, 2.7T

212k km... 131K miles.... No serious issues, the standard compliment of control arms and tire rod ends and timing belt kits every 100K km. Engine still strong and smooth.

2003 A6 2.7T manual transmission with 96K miles. Just replaced the clutch with a South Bend Stage 3 OFE kit. First replacement clutch (OEM) only lasted me 18K miles. I'll do the timing belt/water pump maitenance before 100K. There's lots of opinions as to when to replace the timing belt; I know I'm pushing it, but other than that, my car runs great. K04s in the future?!

1999 A6 AVANT 2.8 , 145,000

bought it at 132,000 ( not running ! last owner change the oil maybe once a yearif that ! there was so much oil SLUGE in the heads it pluged the oil feed for the first cam bearing for both heads for the exhaust cam owner drove it till both exhaust cam eroded about 2-3 mm of the cyl. head and then both the exhaust cam snaped just about in the middle. I got new heads off ebay sent them tothe machine shop (valve job, just wanted the heads to be in good shape) pulled the lower oil pan off to check the lower end all ok! put it all back together ( new t-belt, plugs, filters, water pump ) The cyl. head ( old broken ones ) are all black insideI have pixs at home I can post. Now thateverthing is back together the car runs GREAT 145,000 now, the only thingI need to address is there is a noise from 60-65 mph I believe the noise is coming from the carrier bearing in the center of the drive line (I had this problem with one of my older Audi's 85 4000 Q) any one want to see pixs of the heads let my know.

2001 A6 2.7T at 106,000 miles. I chipped it at approx 89k and have been running it hard every chance I get. This past Friday, I went to lunch with a friend who has an '06 Maxima. He commented 4 times on how smooth my car runs and feels Audi is one hell of a luxury car maker. While that makes me feel good, I feel even better when I jump on the gas and he always says "holy sh#@, this car has some power."

Side note-my wife has a 99 A4 2.8 with 127k and the only reason she wants a new car, is because after being in the 2.7, she wants more power also.

wow, I like what I see in this thread :)

I'm going to be buying a 99 A6 with 125,000 miles on it this week - It's already had the timing belt / water pump / blah blah fixed (just this month actually), the transmission was rebuilt at 104,000 miles, and the important safety recalls have all been fixed on it. *hopefully* this car will last me up to 200,000 without too many problems!

2001 S6 114k miles.

Just replaced the fuel pump a couple of weeks ago. Currently got a number of problems, that I hope are simple and cheap to fix.

Small leak in stearing fluid (no idea where from), small leak in coolant (no idea where from), miscellaneous electrical switch problems (driver door opening not registering, rear windows not opening from their respective switches, driver side visor light not working).

So I have a few things to fix... The rest could be classed as maintenance.

My thoughts exactly! I'm looking into an 01 Allroad and I'm so happy to hear that there are a lot of positive experiences we just don't hear about due to people coming here to fix problems they have.

Bought my A6 2.7t july,17 2006 at 67k. I just hit 117k a couple weeks ago. Greatest car ever. Chipped it at 75k and no fixes or anything out of the ordinary wear. Only turbo car I can imagine that a teenager can put 50k in a year n a half w/o any hiccups. Just awesome german engineering. Looking to add on to my awd collection with a 4.2 C5 or a 1.8t B6. Probably will hit 200k in a couple years.
