Default Differences between an A8 and an S8?

Hi Guys, total Audi noob here. Great looking forum, im guessing this is THE audi forum to be on

Im looking to buy myself an A8 (4.2) or S8 sometime soon and need a bit of advice.

Obviously the S8 comes with 40-60bhp more than the standard 4.2 A8 depending on age etc, but otherwise i dont know much else about the difference.

I hear the brakes are uprated on the S8? 6 Pots? Whats the standard brake setup on the A8?

Is the paddle shift steering wheel standard on all S8's? i know the Quattro Sport has it and some A8's have it as an option...

When going to buy one what should i look for? Gearbox issues? Engine issues? Suspension issues?

Cheers guys

Lee
