Default Car Stereo Nightmares***HELP***

Ok bought a sony CD player from circuit city...they say they can't install it cuz I don't have the connector for the wiring in the car(it was cut off by previous owner) Called a few other places and they are saying I have to rewire the whole car bypassing the amplifiers from Bose...WTF...has anyone done this without bypassing this...please help

try shokan.com they may have the part and you can re wire the plug. they are an audi only used & new parts supplier. I have had good luck with them getting wiring harness for the streio in my 96 a6.

Knight fall...u had the same problem? what did u do to fix it?...shokar doesn't carry the wire connector....

If you had a Bose system with any amps, you would have to take that into account, because you'd need to send a line-level signal to the amp. If you don't have them, it's an easier job. Running your own wires for everything isn't all that bad (I rewired all of my system when I upgraded it), but it does take time and a healthy amount of disassembly. Search out "Metra harness" on here and you will find the harness you'd need for adapting an aftermarket head unit to a Bose system (it has line-level provisions for the amped rear speakers, and speaker-level leads for the front).
