Hey everyone. Being here on Long Island for vacation, I knew that I was right about at sea level.

Last night at 3AM I decided to go to my favorite red-lighyt stretch and test my RS4 to it's limits. Here are the results: (1 passenger in the car)

1st time full throttle (no reving, oil temp. 214 degrees, Sport on)

0-30: 1.95
0-40: 2.52
0-50: 3.45
0-60: 4.76
0-70: 6.03
0-80: 7.89
0-90: 9.02
0-100: 10.96

One passenger in the car with no revving before hand. To me, that was quick. Plus, I stopped at 100 in case cops were out on Christmas eve.

2nd time full throttle (revved 3 times, oil temp. 221 degrees, sport on)

0-30: 1.85
0-40: 2.38
0-50: 3.37
0-60: 4.56!!!!
0-70: 5.91
0-80: 7.72
0-90: 8.92
0-100: 10.45!!!

3rd time (revved 3 times, clutch dropped at 4500 RPM, oil temp. 221 degrees, sport on)

0-30: 1.80
0-40: 2.26
0-50: 3.29
0-60: 4.38 (remember 2 people still in car!!!)
0-70: 5.75
0-80: 7.42
0-90: 8.71
0-100: 9.97!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dropping the clutch subtracted 1 second from the 0-100 time, but less than half a second for the 0-60 time. I couldn't believe that the car got to 60 so fast with no revving and 2 people. I've been driving standard for years, but keep in mind I was at sea level.

No tickets either!!!

Very Nice.....I have an 08 RS4 but i'm located in Denver Colorado......I'll have to give it go and see what numbers come up at 5280 feet. I think i'll leave out the passenger.

The RS4 isn't very amazing at high altitudes. I took a road trip up to the Adirondack Mountains, and the performance was noticeable different. Well, to my standards anyways. 0-60 took around 4.8 seconds with no passenger, and usually it's about .3-.4 seconds faster than that.

A funny story though, tonight I had the most amazing experiences with my RS4.

Here in Manhasset where I'm vacationing, I was driving to the local 7-11. I saw a barrage of amazing looking cars in a parking lot, so I pull up in my RS4. They were kids (18 or 19 I suppose) and they had these "tricked out" cars they thought were devilishly fast. They told me I was driving an A4, and that they would smoke me. Knowing me, I challenged every single one of them to a street race, and that's what they were heading to. I took them to my favorite desolate road, and before we started we were pulled over by the cops. He asked me (leader of the pact) if we were street racing. I came up with a funny answer saying that they were my family. He followed us for a bit, then tailed off.

So, we come to the road and these "Street racers" pull up behind me.

My first race was against some kid in a supped up Celica. As soon as the 3rd honk sounded, I dropped my clutch and instantly burnt the kid. When the race was over, he demanded a rematch saying he "didn't launch correctly". Same thing happened. I completely burnt him. After the first race I told them it's not an A4, it's an RS4, but they didn't know what it was.

So, the next kid I raced had a stock Evo IX. He was the closest out of all of them to touch me, but here's how it went:

He was revving the crap out of his car, and off the line I didn't drop the clutch. That was a mistake. He had me until 30, but then my car's amazing V8 power pulled right past him.

After that the kids drove away knowing they couldn't win. So if anyone in Manhasset for the next week wants to have race, drop me a private message and we can meet at my favorite spot.

It's all relative at altitude....yes the RS4 suffers but so does every other car on the road, so keep that in mind from your one trip experience. It is a blast to get it down to sea level for those of us who live a mile high or more.
