I'm looking for the step-by-step procedure on how to set the readiness code for my car - 97 Audi Quattro A4 1.8T.

Little History:

Cleared a misfire reading on cylinder 4 by replacing spark plug. I used regularar - auto zone - OBDII to clear the code. After this, I've take the car to get smogged and the technician informed me that the ECU is not ready.

Since then, I've driven over 2000 miles already and the ECU is STILL not ready.
