BRAKE LIGHT FLASHING ON DASHBOARD
Hello -
I just purchased a 04,
Audi A6, 3.0, quattro, V6 with about60,000 miles
This morning when I got to work before I turned the car off I noticed my BRAKE light “flashing” constantly on the dashboard. Should I be worried or is this a common problem for Audi’s? I am going to take it to be serviced – But I just wanted to be prepared for a huge out of pocket expense or a major problem. [/b]
Also should I drive the car or have it towed? [/b]
[/b]
THANKS for any insight that you give…. [/b]

RE: BRAKE LIGHT FLASHING ON DASHBOARD
on the b5 s4 the flashing and beeping brake light means that the brake fluid is low.

RE: BRAKE LIGHT FLASHING ON DASHBOARD
On all cars the red brake light flashing means the brake fluid is low.

You should buy the pads and rotors and install them yourself - you'll save probably more than $300 of that money.

Thanks. This happened to me last week and then again this morning.
I'll buy brake fluid and get it done.

On the B5, 1996 to 2001, (O) means low brake fluid or
worn front brake pads.
