Noise from the front wheel drivers side
 

Got an audi A6 2.8 Quarrto but got a problem with the front wheelon the drivers side when drivingthrough a rocky or not so smooth road,there is always a part moving as if something is loose,a mechanic says it is a shock absorber pad,any ideas on what could be wrong?????,and both sides need to be changed from his diagonis,even if only one side has that problem.I also have a noise from the engine when the A/C is on,the same mechanic says it might be the water pump making the noise when the A/C comes on,i dont know much about this car is all this possible???

Please i need help somebody,anybody,please!!!!
