OK, in my previous thread, I mentioned that I couldn't get the wheel off. Now my front passenger window won't go all the way up. Here is the story. It rains today so the window has some water. I accidentally opened the window and now it declines to go all the way. It sometimes go a little bit higher sometimes lower. But never all the way. The motor seems fine. Anybody had similar experience? Could it be just the water?

Also I found that the LQ recall includes "front bumper guides, inspection/repair of front window regulators, headlight washers, ashtray, and front door side moldings". I did the recall a couple of months ago but the receipt doesn't mention anything about front window regulators. Can I still ask them the check them and replace them if broken?

Thank you very much!

they are covered under warranty.

See if your window goes up at a slight angle when it starts going up before it stops?
If it does, push it to the side so it is straight as it goes up and it might allow you to bring up all the way until you get it fixed.

The guides and regulators are known to go bad, although more often the rear windows.
Good luck,
Brice

Thanks! Will try that.

Just to clarify, this is a 2000 a6 2.7t. No factory/extended warranty available any more.

So which item will cover this repair? The LQ recall of something else?

Oh, yes, BTW, let's say the recall has already been performed but fails again, can one ask the dealership to perform another recall repair for free?

Thanks again!

clips and regulators are horrible on this car.
Clips are cheap, labor costs $ but you could DIY maybe

I just changed my clips too...it was cheap and something I did myself. But..for some reason when i put the door panel back on the door handle is weak..I mean it won't pop the door open anymore...I have to push pretty hard to get the door open now....Can anybody shed some light on that for me?? How I could fix that....
