I need a intake for my '99 a4 2.8

ive been doing a little research but im not really sure what is the best buy and i cant spend  rediculous amounts of money on it

Just a custom setup, its probably not worth doing unless you find a way to block heat from the engine (heatshield).  Even with the setup, you won't really notice to much of a difference as far as performance, but will sound a lot better

ahhhh alright well i bought that ebay intake, it was only 60 dollars shipped so i thought it wouldnt hurt

how can i make a heatsheild and what material do you think i should use?
