Default Wheel size question

I own a 2000 A6 2.7T and just bent two 17" rims beyond repair. I have a local guy that is selling his stock 2001 S8 18" rims. Does anyone know if these will fit my car? Thanks

Default RE: Wheel size question

Easiest way to figure that out is to go to TireRack.com. Select "shop for wheels" and type in your car's information. It'll bring up all the wheels they sell for your car. Select one and read the specs. You need to be concerned mainly with offset and bolt pattern/spacing. Then do the same for the S8 (you'll need the width of the S8 wheels first). Compare the specs of wheels they sell for each car, and if the offset/bolt pattern/bolt spacing is the same for them (or very nearly the same), you should be OK.
