Fastest turn an A3 can handle

Just wondering if anyone experimented how fast of a turn the A3 can handle without loosing control. A buddy of mine and I went to test drive a mini cooper s for him the other day and took the thing 55 around a pretty sharp turn and the thing stuck to the ground and I know its a much smaller go-karty car but id think the A3 could pull it off. I haven't got to try it for myself :( been too busy :-/

Define "turn"

Audi's are heavy so they tend to stick to the ground fairly well. Not having to drive an A3 in my mountains I couldnt really answer that but the one I drove at the dealer held the corners better than I expected from a FWD, kinda forgot it wasnt AWD when I was driving. Now comparing it to the B5 I drove that thing handled amazing and blew me away in all aspects.

I've taken some sharp turns on the freeway going 75-80 and it held. Wouldn't recommend it on wet roads, but I'm sure the car will handle it fine.

Pretty much a turn that you would take in the lane closest to the sidewalk in an intersection if that makes sense ( not that I plan to take those turns going 60 haha)

I think what you are looking for is :max lateral acceleration.witch is measured going a round in a circle(R=25 meter someone correct me if I am wrong)with a slowly increasing speed upon reaching the point where the car breaks out.this is the only way to measure AND compare how fast a car can corner.(not forgetting diff: tarmac, temp, tyre)

The A3 is no Mini. They tend to understeer quite a bit with some body roll. The FWD more so than the AWD. (duh)

Yeah the exit ramp that I take everyday says 35mph.....However it see's 55-65mph and I'm tack sharp. Freaking love my A3.

as stated by an audi rep [Morgan] at the 'audi driving experience', the factory usually is inclined to add more understeer, then over. I think to set a "bar" for this would be an intersection "90 degree" turn. Too many on/off-ramp/merge/etc are too different across the country.

I've easielly taken a merging ramp thats stated at 55mph+/- at 105 in my mb and held. But then again, this leads back to a difference of turns, degrees, banks, etc.

With that being said, I'll see what I can run on 90's around here and report back. Though I'm on stock suspension so dont expect much.

edit: also keep in mind tire manufacture, width, season, outside temperature will vary so it will be hard to get a solid gauge
