Default What is this plug?!

This has been driving me crazy since I got my car. I found this plug under my passenger seat while cleaning. I have no idea where it goes, what it does, if it should be unplugged, or if I should plug it back in. Anybody know?

Do you have heated seats? If not, it may be the wire for them, it's cheaper to wire cars for all options and then just not install the option.

Just a guess.

My car is a 99 Audi A6 Avant Quattro. It has just about all the options, including heated seats, and I know the passenger side works. Somebody told me something about maybe the airbags? I'm not sure.

well i think all the seat options available were heated seats, lumbar support, side seat airbags, and the standard power memory controls. does your car not have any oneof those options?

well is your airbag light on? if it is the plug for the airbag, it'll throw a DTC making the airbag light come on in the dash if it's not plugged in when the ignition is switched on.

haha, i've never seen that smilie before. yeah, if anything, it's supposed to be plugged in so either someone unplugged on purpose (maybe there was a short or something) or it got unplugged and someone just forgot to plug it back in. i'd say that it maybe got accidentally disconnected, but those things are a b**** to get unplugged, so i'm sure it wasn't unintentional.
