Default 2008 Radio Harness?

Does anyone know if there is a radio harness interface for the 2008 being produced (and sold) yet? I am chomping at the bit to get a new radio in my '08 but I'd rather not have the existing wiring chopped to do it and I just can't find anything available for the '08 (plenty for the '07).

Thanks in advance for your help!

Joe

Default RE: 2008 Radio Harness?

I would bet that it's the same harness as the '07. BTW, where did you find harnesses for the '07? When I put my aftermarket HU in mine (back in June) there were none available and I had to 'customize' one meant for a different Audi. If there's one (or more) on the market now, I'd like to take a look at them.

Default Anything further on this?

Hi,
I was searching around for information on this subject and have looked through several posts but I've come up empty as to whether anyone makes an adapter harness for an aftermarket radio. I'd like to put in one of those pioneer models with the navigation but I really dont want to hack up my original wiring if possible. Has anyone found one yet?

Thank you
Josh

Default No reply eh?

So no one has any experience with any aftermarket harnesses? It's been nine months since I first posted this and have gotten no suggestions. I'm surprised that with all the crazy mods people do to there A3's no one has bothered to pursue an aftermarket harness adapter. Sorry Mellow I guess we shall never know.

As you can imagine, it is not a simple task. VW/Audi has an elaborate system behind the panels of these vehicles. You have multiple entertainment accessories in this system and multiple harnesses. I wish there was something out there to make it easy/plug and play, but there isn't and apparently it is too much work for the professional companies that spend everyday researching making and these products. Aside from VW, I make the assumption based on my visits to my local Audi dealership that the main demographic for Audi is a much older crowd than those of us who would not be satisfied with the factory system. A couple of people on here (as well as myself) have installed there own stereo systems and would be happy to give you advice on how to wire everything directly.
