What engine/trans do you have. That would be the biggest impact on MPG difference. My 2.7t Tip is getting about 18 city and 25 highway.

Yea that is about what I am getting in my A6. I might get as much as 21 just depending on how much highway driving I do but my average is 19-20

I have a 2000 2.7. I get 17-18 city, 22-23 on the highway. I gotta keep my foot out of it. I could do better.

I get about 16-17 MPG in my A6 2.8 mostly because I usually drive very short trips (5 mins.) This is with normal driving everytime I try to get on the power the only thing that happens is my fuel gauge drops

Ive got the 2.8L thanks for all the responses!

I drove it for around 2 hours and where it usually shows the MPG your using at the time on the dashboard it disappears around 2 hours of driving, This happened to me when i took it out for a road trip last week . I parked the car and went shopping and once i got back in and started it back up it was fine. Any clues on how to fix this?

Yes, your information display is fading/ missing pixels... very common issue with Audis. As the instrument cluster warms up, the fading gets worse. No cure, except to replace the whoe cluster, lots of $$$$.
I replaced my cluster last year with a used one from a yard, old cluster was completely dark/ faded. Now the replacement is starting to lose pixels (lines of display).

When I do more highway miles w/o driving too fast I can get up to 22-23mpg. In the city while romping on it its as low as 16-17, but usually 18 or 19. Averages about 20-21 if I'm easy on the accelerator.
