Default Where's My Front Antenna Amp?

'95, A6, 2.8L. Having poor AM radio reception, I wanted to check both the front and the rear antenna amplifiers for proper voltage and current draw. I pulled the trim from the passenger side front A Pillar as Bentley Manual shows that is location for Front Ant. Amp (drawing 90-912). Surprised to find no amp at all and no wires other than what looks like an antenna wire running up vertically on A Pillar into the headliner. No other wires or connectors visible. It seems there never was a front antenna amp in this car.

I wonder if a change was made by AUDI that eliminated the front Ant. amp or is it in another location? Maybe all that is needed is the REAR Ant. Amp.

I can see getting to the REAR ant. amp in the driver side D pillar requires removal of rear seat and rear deck before getting even close to the amp. Bentley does indicate that the rear Ant. amp is both for AM & FM.

Any ideas as to where the FRONT ant. amp went?
