Default I messed up

I took my black a4 and tried to test pipe it. I got the cat off with little problem. Put a pipe in its place and took it for a drive. Now my previous knowledge of test piping, is that it always is an improvement. Not in this case. The turbo doesn't spool up as fast as it used to. That sucks, bad. So i guess that i'm writing this in lure that no one else tries to do the same thing on this car. I'm going to go to a muffler shop to have the cat welded back on this friday. I guess lesson learned, don't change the stock exaust at all, it is very good design to begin with. It does sound deeper without it

???? How would reducing back pressure result in less turbo spool?

Ummm that doesn't sound right at all. I'd be worried something else isn't right.

Did you cut out your resonator thinking it was the catalytic converter? The catalytic converter is bolted right up to your turbo/exhaust manifold..
