Default 1999 A4 1.8T quattro problems

Hi all,

New to the group and was hoping you may be able to help. Recently repaced the timing belt, with tensioner and roller, since then the car seems to rev too high at higher speeds. Idles fine but seems to be running about 500-700 rpm too high at 100km. Also it has developed a lazy shift problem. At times it seems like it doesnt want to shift gears untilIback off on the pedal, at which time it will shift. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
