Default A4 timing belt replacement in No. Jersey

2000 A4 1.8T Quattro tiptronic
I purchased the ECS ultimate timing belt kit, (water pump, tensioners) ect and need a indy shop to install. I have been getting quotes of $1,000 which I know is ridiculously high. Can someone recommend a shop who is competent and let me know what the REAL price I should look to pay is.
Thanks

Not sure where did you get the quote from but here is a Audi shop I worked with before in Newark, give them a call see what price they give you:

Quattrohaus
973-491-9790 (ask for Jose or Luis)
27 New York Ave, Newark, NJ.

Also, my co-worker's neighbor is a technician at Bell Audi who is open to do side jobs. You may try him as well:

732-620-0454 (ask for Jonathan)

Good luck.

well there is always the option of your driveway.

1K seems like they might have been quoting you for the parts+labor on the job. I got a quote of about that when they were buying the parts for me.

I called Quattrohaus and they quoted @ $600.00(no parts) to install timing belt, water pump, thermostat, tensioners, new belts, cam adj gasket, cam seals and valve cover gasket. Seems fair. Not knowing who they are and the fact that you worked there, I am trusting your recommendation. Ill renew my triple A roadside towing just in case....
Thanks for the help

do it yourself, it is not nearly as hard as the job is made out to be. I did it by myself in 4 hours. I love working on my car so I thought it was a wonderful way to spend a portion of my day off.
