i remenber readign about that but i think i remenber reading to put it in the same way... is it bad if i have it backwords?

and yeah, any valve flutters, my valve will flutter if i release the gas pedal slowly or on rare occassions under partial throttle, but if you completely releasing the pedal quickly and generating a decent amount of boost, then it should make a solid "psshhh" noise
diaphragm valves are installed reverse of how piston valves are. this is because the pressure needs to come in from the side so that there isn't constant pressure beeing put on both sides of the diaphragm, like if you were to put the bottom of the valve into the turbo outlet hose. 710n and apr r1 valves are the same as stock, while all the piston valves should be installed in reverse
my stratosphere valve sputters on occasion, i would say about like chaos'
but here is my question, sorry for the jack...... but i have an older one, not the hyperboost... is it supposed to be normal or reverse?

piston valves are reverse than diaphragm. stock is diaphragm, so if you have a piston valve, the bottom should go to the turbo outlet hose, if you have a diaphragm valve, the bottom should go to the TIP
mine does not flutter all the time... it will mostly flutter when im in like 4th and 5th and im running at 17 psi and i let go of the gas... then it flutters.... But now im confused if i should try puttin it in backward or not? I think i put it the normal way... with the nipple for the vaccum hose facing up
I also forgot to mention that once in awhile when im in full boost on 5th or 4th gear the boost gauge needle freaks out and u could feel it too... It did that with the stock DV and does it with the one i put in too
the bottom of the valve(opposite from the vacuum nipple) should be going into the turbo outlet house(between the compressor outlet and IC piping) and the side should go to the hose that goes into your TIP (between the intake and compressor inlet).
i don't know how to be any clearer than that lol
and you correct the spikiness you were talking about by installing a stiffer spring. if you have the green one in, try the yellow one.

I was reading this thread and got thinking about my Bailey DV. I looked on AWE's site and this is what I pulled off:
Should I change the way mine is oriented? Currently it is same as stock.
Pop the Bailey valve into the boost hoses in the same orientation
as stock.
as stock.
