Default xenon lights problem on audi tt

Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been answered before but Im new to the forums and this problem is driving me mad. Im posting it here rather than the TT forum in case its actually a common audi electrics problem.
We recently got a 2003 Audi TT coupe, 225bhp, 6sp manual. The warning light came up on the dash showing a light bulb gone, got out and checked, no lights gone. It stayed up, so I got out again, noticed one of the "dim" bulbs was off, (the high discharge xenon whatever the hell they are). Went to motor factors and ordered a bulb, 140euro, fair enough, havent fitted it yet but was driving it last night and when I checked,BOTH bulbs were off, turned off the lights, turned them back on, and the bulb I thought was gone came on and the other one didnt....then the girlfriend took it last night and when she checked it both were on.
Apart from the fact that the shop probably wont take back the bulb, this is obviously some kind of electrical problem but was hoping one of you lads might know what it is, if its a common problem etc., I said I would check with you guys before handing it to the main-dealer and paying a fortune

Thanks in advance for any help.

Default RE: xenon lights problem on audi tt

Now that I went rooting, I found some guys discussing possibly the same problem: http://www.audiforums.com/m_742531/tm.htm
(sorry bout the new post)
Does this look like my problem? So would I be looking for ignitors for both lights and if so, anybody know where is a good place to buy them without getting screwed ($$$) ?

Thanks again.
