Default Help me spend $1200

Looking to do a few mods to my 03 1.8T Quattro.

I'm considering:
Chip $500, probably ARP stage 1+
Injectors $250-$300
Most likely a boost gauge

Other than that I'm not too sure, I was set on a test pipe but after reading a good amount of threads it doesn't seem they do much if anything with just a chip. I'd love to put a slightly larger turbo on down the road but don't want to spend $500-$1000 a clutch and another $800-$1000 for a cat-back. So...I guess I'm limited with the power of chip/injector combo.

I'm considering piecing together an ebay FMIC kit, but will it really do any good with my setup, or is that really geared towards those with larger turbo's?

Other considerations are ebay short shifter and/or turbo timer.

So you think I'd gain more from the exhaust than the ARP stage 1+ that throws in injectors and claims to add another 20 or so hp and 35. Are their claims just not grounded? My only issue with an exhaust is I don't want something loud and obnixous or that drones on the highway. I don't want this to look/sound like a high school kids car(no offensiveif any readers are of that age).

You wouldnt make those kinds of numbers w/o a full turbo back or fmic. WIth a mbc, you can increase the boost up a few more psi and that would give you basically the same thing.

I still dont buy those claims until someone actually post a dyno chart making the extra 10whp or so from the 1+. Most people with a turboback, intake, fmic, and so on, only make barely over 200whp.

Any 2.5" exhaust with both a resinator and muffler will have a deep tone and not that high raspy noise your thinking of. You want either a magnaflow or borla strait through muffler

i just did about $1500 in upgrades, i seafoamed the whole car, but yours is a 03 so i think u can skip that, then i got a chip, new plugs, forge dv, and a FMIC, i also got new brake pads. and that was about $1500 and it was all worth it except the chip, casue it sucks and i gotta buy a new one. oh and i got a short throw shifter which is awsome, and it was only $20 off ebay.
