Default Stock radio question

Can the stock radio just be pulled out of the car or does it have to be relocated on a 2002 A4 1.8T Quattro? I found one for sale with an aftermarket nav system and i was wondering if the stock radio needed to be in for the air bags and important stuff like that. thanks

Default RE: Stock radio question

The data bus system will work fine without the radio as long as it was properly installed. If the installer taps into the data bus signal wire for power or ground the whole data bus will not work. If the data bus wire is just left disconnected the databuss will be uneffected.
