Default Airbag Light... ??

Okay, so i just installed a flip out dvd player in my A3 and the airbag light was fine until i tapped into the accessory wire under the driver side dash. Prior to that, i had the accessory wire from the unit just tied into the main power source and everything was fine but now, after i messed around testing wires for the accessory wire, the light has come on and won't go off. I checked all the fuses and etc... whats the deal.. how do i fix it?

Try unhooking the battery for about 30 minutes.

Are you sure it was the accessory wire you tapped? If it was something related to the airbag it would probably only test 12v when the ignition is on. Usually airbag wires are yellow FWIW.

yeahh.. i did the battery too that was my first idea. I'm going to try it again. But, it was a black wire, not a yellow. I'm wondering if i take off the wire if it will go back to normal? or test a few other wires. I tested about 4 or 5 wires. 1 was current 12v, two were like 3 volt when the key was on and then one was neg and then the one i tapped was 12v when the key was on.. Any other ideas?

alright so i disconnected the battery for about a minute, put it back, and there was no difference- airbag light was still on. I then took the wire that i had tapped into for the accessory wire, and disconnected the wire that was connected to it, disconnected the battery again.. put it back and there was still no change..... If ANYone has any idea please post
