Default need confirmation on hp2 brakes..

From what I have searched and read, my 03 2.7t does NOT have the HP2 brakes, therefore, I only have 4 pads in the front. Only the HP2 came with 8 pads, correct?

I have also searched and came up with either EBC Green or Axxis ceramics being the best for this platform when doing mostly spirited driving daily and never really hitting the track. For rotors, it seems like anything will really do except for no drilled rotors (which I knew from my previous car).

Am I on the right track here?

The HP2 caliper has 8 pads correct.

As for the pads EBC and Axxis pads work pretty good.

Since mine is an 03, they discontinued those particular calipers beginning in the 02 MY, correct? I thought I had read that, but it was by the same person here and on AW. I just needed confirmation on that really.

Thanks for your prompt answer auditech.

HP2 calipers were still used after 02, they are standard on the S-line A6 and S4. Some 2.7T A6's have them as an option.
You really have to take the wheel off and look at the caliper, the HP2 pads are really small and are shaped like a trapezoid.
