Default A3 VS Skyline R34

What the hell just happened?

I was driving tonight and a Skyline R34 came behind me from no where!

Heswerved in and out of traffic, and ended up infront of me!

We came to some lights i was still behind him at this point and wasin awe of his car, it was in imaculate conditon, Nissmoexhaust ETC. sounded and lookedamazing!

Infront of him was a Ford transit, as the lights turned green he waited a second then put his foor down for20 yards or soand caught up with the van, at this point i knew he was up for a little fun!

For a change there where roadworks on this road so we were limited to 20mph, i had the window down and noticed he never went into 3rd gear he held the revs pretty high, which was a signal to me that he was going to boot it as soon as he had thechance

Half way up the road thetransit pulled over and with out any hesitation we both floored it at exactly the same time!

THIS IS THE WEIRD PART!

I kept up with him all the way to 100mph? And could have probably gonea little further!

I was in shock and i think he was too, the only advantagei had was hechanged into 3rd at 60mph where as i changed at 70mph!

WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND?

He definately wasnt a middle aged man (meaning 50+ )with no driving ability!

CONFUSSED, but happy

Unless it's a GT-R or GT-T, the specs are all lower than the A3.

Forgot wich model came with a twin turbo but it only produced stock 270 hp.
so if you had cai, exhaust, and ecu flash, i can see a A3 keep up with it, that is if exhaust is all he had?

He probably spent all his money on a stereo system rather than engine upgrades [:'(]I've driven an R34 in the Bay area, just about as fast as a stock twin turbo supra, really nothing to write home about. Now if he had tuning, you wouldn't even see his exhaust.

With all respect to your car and your abilitiesk I think the R34 was not 'pushing' as hard as he could. Never the less, if it was stock, the GT-R trim on the R34 was a CONSERVATIVE 285hp. At that time it was an agreement between the manufacturers not to claim what the engines were really capable of (I think fear of government backlash). Anyway, the RB26 DETT in that chassis is an incredible engine. Anyway, glad you had fun.
