The navigation in the 2003 RS6 is pretty antiquated. There is a display in the instrument cluster and also voice prompts as well. The controls are a small dial and a few buttons just posterior to the mirror controls. The interface is clunky, and nearly impossible to use while driving (yes, I know you're not supposed to use it while driving - but when the heck else do you use it?) The turn by turn directions only get you to the approximate area, not the exact address. I'm not even sure how often Navteq is updating the maps - I just received the most current version, but thusfar I have been unable to verify the date of the data. I agree with Cinci RS6 - look for the other options first. If you really want navigation, some people have swapped out the Bose Symphony II audio system for the newer DVD-based headunit with the lovely LCD display, but it looks like a fair bit of work.
