Looking into Audi A4 - Need Info!

Im looking at purchasing a 2001 A4 1.8T Auto with less than 50K. What are the common problem areas? Hopefully you can point some out as you all drive audi's or know more about them than I do. I just dont want to buy a nice car...that doesn't run.
