Default PLEASE HELP!

I have 97 A 4 2.8 QUATTRO I recentley lost the undercarriage engine shield, and would like to know what its purpose is, and do I need to replace it.....Thanks

That way others can see the answer. I couldn't find what you were talking about without using the search feature.


It protects the underside of the engine a bit and helps keep stuff from flying up into the important area with all of those belts and moving bits. I recommend using it, or replacing it if you lost yours, but that is not to say that your car will get messed up if you didn't. Engine is just more protected and it can keep many fluids off of your garage floor too.
