Default Oil Leak ...

hello AFers ,
My A4 has an oil leak and that oil is getting on my engine block and it burns, very irritating. The car has oil dripping off the filter, pretty small white filter that was put on by jiffy lube employees when the previous owner got the oil changed before selling it to me aroundDec 5, but I put like 60 mi on the car since.. So now I am going to do my own oil change and put on a german filter, either Mann or Mahle. I'm wondering what else could be causing such an oil leak that it somehow gets on my engine. Any thoughts ??? Thanks appreciate any replies.

Sounds like the valve cover gasket to me. Its about $45 from ecstuning.com. Never use the small filter or regular oil. Please fix that NOW

Could be lots of things. Maybe it is just oil spilled when the old filter was removed. Before replacing anything, other than the filter and using synthetic oil, you should drive 1000 miles and see if the old oil burns off.

Thanks for the suggestions, I was thinking of cleaning off the oil once it gets nicer out and replacing the filter, oil , and the VC gasket...
