Although its not incredibly necessary for an otherwise stock engine I got the carbonio CAI. sounds great, a little expensive, but I got a deal off a friend.

did you notice a difference in pull (power)? did it spool the turbo any faster? give the engine a deeper tone? basically did it make the car go faster and not sound much louder?

no difference in pull. you may get 2 or so HP from it. It does sound cool a little deeper and you can hear it really sucking in the air.

I think that a better heat shield would really do a upgrade intake justice. The carbonio and evoms are rumored to have an inferior heat box that the stock air box. People more knowledgeable that me have suggested that this maybe the reason that the performance is just not there with the aftermarket intakes. The manufactures claim 10-15 hp but I have never seen any proof of that. I am going to get the evoms intake in a few weeks and hopefull a custom heatsheild as well. I will let you know how it works out.

I'd like to know how that EvoMS intake goes cos on their site they claim 10-15 hp like you said but the carbonio website just says increased hp... at least the last time i checked it did lol.
But yeh I'm leaning more towards the Evo intake... i think a lot of people get the carbonio because it looks nicer... a lot nicer haha. But I'm definitely interested in you opinion of it...

Well I will post back. I am hoping to get it done not next week but the week after. probably not the custom heat shield. That will be the first thing after this round. I am also putting in the forged DV in preparation for chipping my car when the warranty is up. So in two weeks I should have the evoms and my existing AWE exhaust. I am hoing to get some performance but I will just have to wait and see.
