IMO I would never own an audi without quattro. A sports car should be either rearwheel drive or AWD if you want a car that is usable unless the road conditions necesitate a lifted vehicle or a snow plow.

Is that confirmed? Why would Audi keep their bread and butter off the streets? The test models in MT and Car and Driver were fitted with Quattro, so it doesn't sound like any drivetrain issues to be worked out.
I read on MT that the first cars to come over would be quattro 3.2 with DSGs then the 2.0T with manual and dsg and quattro options I wish they would give us a 2.0T that we could chip to be like 275 horse and 300+ Torque

Audi w/o Quattro, not in my book.
And is it just me, or are all car manufacturers using the same style for the back of their cars. At least in picture: lexus, toyota, bmw, honda, audi, they look the same!!!
Soon, we might end up with cars that look exactly the same, just with different badges! That will be a sad day...

Yeah, FWD has NO PLACE in ANY performance vehicle. think of where your car throws it's weight when you mash the right pedal... As I saw in anothers sig (forgot who): "An Audi without Quattro is just a VDub"...
Mooseimage - Atleast they dont look like Ford ****us's (look at the Scooby WRX STI for the last 2 years, its horrible, front and back looks like a Ford ****us). Actually ALL the Impreza's do. Thank God though, because if they didn't look like ass I might have bought one and not gotten my Audi. I almost bought a brand new Impreza (and after the $5k "clutch" from the asshats at the stealership 2 months later, I really miss the thought of having any form of warranty...).
I wouldn't mind a B8, but I'm waiting for my dream car. I get it in about half an hour when I get out of work, its parked out in the parking lot... I like the looks of the B7, but not as many mods as my B6, so for now, that remains my dream car. I just wish for one more gear... cursed 5speed...

I have new A4''s coming in both Quattro and FWD. The info you were given is incorrect. I just spent the week at infineon driving the new A4''s against their competition. I can say this for sure.... AUDI IS BETTER THAN THEIR DIRECT COMPETITORS FROM EVERY ANGLE.
My sales manager just got back from SF this week, he had a chance to take the new 09 on the track and said it was wicked fast and very nice. He also said they (one of the car magazine) did a comparison against the 328i and the new 09 beat it by a whooping 6 secs on the track.
We expect to get ours in by late September possibly sooner if the current A4s are sold out.
Actually, the exact opposite is true. The first versions coming to the US are ONLY Quattros (with automatics). I''ve been provided with the order guide from a dealer. I can post if you want.
