Default 2003 A6 4.2 Engine ticking noise

Dear Audi Forums members. A while ago I posted a thread regarding my audi having a ticking noise in front by the passenger side. My car had 58000 miles on it and in a good shape. I have been back and forth to many shops and the all said that it was that chain tensioner. Well, I replaced the chain tensioners and also did the timing belt and the tensioners and water pump since it was already near 60000 miles. After I got the car back, guess what? the damn noise is still there. Then I was told by the dealer that this is normal with all 4.2s. I don't know how the could say that because I listened to a bunch of them that don't have the noise. Anyways I was told that it is my lifters on one of the cylenders thats making the noise. I was told by a friend of mine that there is a product name MARVEL MYSTERY OIL and to add it to my oil during oil change. At first I was worried to add anything to the oil but since he added the same product to his porsche, I decided to go for it. I changed my oil with 0/40 synthetic like always and added 2 quarts of this mystery oil to the oil I used. (6 quarts synthetic and 2 quarts of Marvel oil). Almost immidiately after the start up of the car the noise went away and hasn't come back yet. Just wanted to share this since I hear a lot of the members with the same problem.

Good Luck All

Ramses.
