Default Help!

Hey A4 guys,

I am beginning to get a little pissed off because I cant seem to find out the answers for two simple noob questions ...I did a search on AW, AZ, FOURTITUDE and I couldn't find a DIY for replacing the headlamp on a 2001.5 B5 A4, could someone maybe direct me to a thread??.... I currently own a b7 S4 but I used to own a b5 01 S4 and I never had to replace the headlamp and my bro bought the car without a manual(IDIOT!).... what kind of bulb do I have to get or if do I have to replace a ballast of some sort??

Thanks 4 your help guys,
Hank D.

Default RE: Help!

If you have the regular (non-hid) bulbs in there now, the low beam replacement is the H7. You will only have aballast if the car had stock HIDs or if the headlightswereupgraded to HIDsat some point, in which case the ballastis typically mounted beneath the headlight. If the bulbs give a little flash when you turn on the headlights and take 30 seconds to a minute to 'warm up' to full brightness, then they are HIDs. Regular halogens just turn on/off like any normal bulb.
