Default heating problem

im new here, so this might be a dumb question but i figured i ask before i went to the dealer. i have a 99 a6 quattro with 143 on it and the heat only blows out hot while im driving, as soon as i stop at a light it blows out cold. i checked the antifreeze level and its good also when the heat is not blowng out hot the seats seem like they dont heat as well. the temperature gauge goes up to the middle but sometimes it goes below that even if i have been driving for a while. could someone please help me

Default RE: heating problem

Get the DTC if you can;
or
get a free estimation from the dealers (if you can).

Default RE: heating problem

I have this same exact problem, I saw another post with it mentioning it could be the coolent level, but I am told mine is fine. Is there anything else that may be causing this? I was told that it is the little device under the dash that allows the air in, and I need a new one, b/c the doors aren't operating right, but when I'm driving the heat comes out fine and it comes out really hot, just nothing on idle. It really sucks b/c I have a remote starter so no matter how long I let it run it never gets that warm b/c it is just idling.
