Default Recommend a used A8?

Hi All,

I am thinking about picking up a 2004 A8 with about 39k miles on it. I have been reviewing some of these posts, seems like most of you like your A8. Anything I should worry about with this year/model?

Thanks!

Default RE: Recommend a used A8?

Hey. I just purchased a 2001 A8L with 75k on it and can honestly say I love it. I wasa little concerned about repair costs etc but I have never drivena car like this before. It is an unbelievable machine and that ENGINE!. I wouldnt expect too much in the way of replies on this forum so thought I would just give you my 2c for what its worth as a new owner. There are some checklists around here for purchasing a used A8 that i found helpful. Good luck.

I purchased my '04 A8L with 39K miles on it about 7 months ago - like new CPO from Audi dealer. Not really a concern about problems since it was under factory warrenty and also came with a CPO extended warrentyfor 100K miles. Had some small catch up work done at dealer within several months, but nothing at all major. Had to buy new tires at 50K and brake rotors at 55K. Other than that I have not spent a dime on it, including dealer maintenance. I would not buy one unless you have a warrenty left to work through any outstanding things that come up short term. Many are lease turn ins and the previous owners don't hassle with having the small stuff repaired at the end that can end up costing $'s. Great car! Get one.
