Why do I have a bolt in bearing pack on the right front my 2002 2.7t A6? It doesn't have a V-8 and everything I hace read here and in the parts catalogs say that the 2.7 came with a press in bearing assembly, not the bolt in pack. I have a nice, new press in bearing assembly sitting in my garageand a nicely disaasembled Audi. Of course, its Saturday afternoon and the chances of finding a bearing pack before Monday are nil, so now I have to go rent a car to get to and from work and the parts store. What a PITA!

But, to anyone knowledgable in the ways of Audi, why do I have a bolt in pack?

Why didn't you go to the parts department and match the part with your VIN number?
The engine size doesn't matter, the year of the vehicle does.

all bearings are pressed in ( at least the outer ring ) that's the older cars, the 2002 has the full bearing so needs the proper kit to install ( simple to me but expensive to you ) nothing is free and simple with the newer cars
