if an insurance company sees that they will quote 8k and total your car, no doubt about it...

did u at least get to take the balet girl home w u?

man, that really sux, I would say it is time to start shopping for your new A4, hopefully the girl had insurance....

if it maked you feel any better I was sideswiped today in my mom's hybrid accord (my car is in the shop)....

well, glad to hear you are okay...if you need to make some extra money, every B5 owner on this forum needs at least one part of that car...lol

I always hate to see a members car take a hit :(

ty98a4
02-29-2008, 12:59 AM
yea not sure if it will get totaled or not yet...and yes she had insurance..and no i did not take her home lol she was 17....iam disapointed but what do you do? we will see how much i will get for it.

qUaTtRoA4
02-29-2008, 01:10 AM
my guess is that you will wnd up with somewhere between 5 and 7k....which sounds like a pretty decent down payment on a B5 S4...lol

I am 21 years old and if a hot 17 yo balet dancer had just molested my pride and joy and asked if there was ANY way she could repay me....lol

if your rear quarter pannels wern't bent, then it would be a straightforward fix, but in this case fixing it probably will not be the answer[>:]

02-29-2008, 01:14 AM
the driver rear is pushed down and in, you can see it in the first and second pic. i think i might get the money and then bring it to school and put it on the frame rack and straighten it out or at least measure it all up and see if its bad or not.(iam going toschoolfor autobody)and i have thought about getting a s4.....hmmm

02-29-2008, 01:16 AM
you better hope it's totalled. its just plain bad luck

qUaTtRoA4
02-29-2008, 01:18 AM
nice!...let them total your car and buy it back for about 1k....then put the insurance money towards an S4!

then you can fix the A4 at school for practically nothing and sell the A4 to pay off the S4!

well, I hope everything works out, accidents are fu,king stressfull, i feel soo useless without a car! (though I should get mine back 2moro *fingers crossed*)

ty98a4
02-29-2008, 01:21 AM
yea this car has not been good to me at all.....deer = hood, fender, windsheild, headlights... dumb teen girl= trunk, rear quarter, rear bumper and support, frame rack pull...damn

I like how the trunk is pushed up. Gives it some nice curves, perhaps you can fabricate a spoiler styled to those angles?

Just kidding. Someone's gotta be the comic relief, yeah? I agree with Brian; hopefully they total the car, because repairing it is going to be more stressful than shitting bricks.

On a side note: if someone in a Jeep hit your car, that kind of damage isn't so bad. How fast was she going? Audis are built tremendously tough; I had a girl rear-end me about a month ago, and all I got were some scratches that you can hardly see, and her hood was bent up, with her internals hardly working.

speaking of wrecks, my cousing actually ended up getting more for his minicooper after he drove it of a short cliff in California a few months after he bought it in New York. I went out there to drive it back with him and with gas and food and of course the car the whole trip cost about 19,500 he crashed it insurance gave him a check for over 20,000 lol! i guess the mark up from NY to CA is pretty significant! we thought about making a living buying used cars in NY drving them to CA and then crashing them.

slide your hand across the c pillar. if you feel a bend somewhere they most likely will total it. and ya definitely buy it back and part it out.

CLX
02-29-2008, 09:43 AM
Hey, if you buy it back and part it, make sure to sell those taillights as "Sweet Custom Altezza" lights! Sucks you got hit but just thank yourself for having enough sense to buy an A4 rather than a Pinto or Fiesta!;)

man that really sucks, just after you got it back too. if i were you i would deff. plan on buying the car back, when mine was totled i bought it back for $750 and the damage was all cosmetic too. that dosent look to bad, did you drive it home? if it drives straight then the car would be easy to fix if you want to. probably about 4-5hrs on a frame jig and that car would look pretty damn close to fixed. and the worst part is if you part it out the only thing i would need is your trunk and taillight.[&o]youd b amazed how hard it is to find those fast, ive been lookin for about 2 weeks.

was your frame not bent? a corner hit like that usually bends the frame which can be a major bear even after it looks fixed. look at space between pillar and door on both sides of car and see if it's the same. Maybe you already addressed this. If so, please ignore. Good luck with the fix. Kudos on doing it yourself!

CampbellsChunkySoupr

tough luck. it will all be okay. usually insurance will hook u up if you are not at fault. sometimes you get raped

ty98a4
04-09-2008, 01:20 PM
yea the rear drivers side was down 3mm form factory. you can see the little targets i got hangin on the bottom of my car that reflect the laser that i have sitting in the center of the car then it relays it back to the computer and tells me what way it needs to go... the frame wasnt to bent really i mean the most of it was on top from the jeep jumping over the rear bumper and hitting the quarter and trunk.
thanks for the luck i will need it lol

qUaTtRoA4
05-14-2008, 12:15 AM
lookin good man!

can't wait to see it painted!

either tint the tail lights you have or get a set of stockers....

keep up the good work!

might as well do the lowers while you are at it....

oh, and I think it would look awesome if you shave the lower valences on the bumpers

ty98a4
05-14-2008, 12:35 AM
shave???the lower valance?? are you just sayin paint it or acutally blend it into the bumper?? so there is no line?

i was thinkin about doin this but then when i was lookin at it. the lower valance is more of a rubbery flexiable plastic and the bumper is more solid. so it would be very hard to not get crackin even when you use the right plastic filler and plastic weld them together.
