Default where do i find good control arms for cheap?

hey guys,

Anyone know where to get upper control arms and lower control arms for a 2000 a6 4.2l? i need them for the right/passenger side. Audi tells me that i need to replace both upper ones and that i can't just replace one. I've been to a couple of web sites, (ie. autopartswarehouse and parts bin) but they don't tell me whether the part will fit a 4.2l, they just say "audi a6 quattro, 2000 base". there are a couple from febi, lemforder, moog etc.. I'm trying to keep each control arm under $100. Any suggestions?

This is an entire kit that includes everything for your application (upper and lower control arms, sway bar end links, tie rod ends, and all connecting hardware):

http://www.blauparts.com/audi/audi_c...arms_kit.shtml

Since you will have the entire assembly apart, it just makes good sense to do it all at once. The only problem is they are currently out of stock until middle to late March. If you can hold off that long I think it would be worth it because the price of the entire kit is less than just buying individual control arms.....about $500 for the kit and that includes both sides (a total of 8 control armsplus all the other parts).

They even have a pretty good "how to" section if you plan to tackle it yourself, and just for the record it is best to do both sides at once because if one side is bad, the other side isn't too far behind. Better safe than sorry when it comes to suspension parts.

I just did the uppers on my 2000 A6 Avant 2.8, I ended up purchasing from http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/ The web price was high but I found another site that had the same kit for $200.00 less so I asked them if they would Price Match and they did!! I have had great luck with these guys so I keep going back to them for almost everything. At any rate I decided to purchase the entire kit because its not much cheaper to just buy the uppers separately, you will eventually use everything.

My 2 cents
