The ecu adjusts for more/less air right?
so if it was running lean the ecu would adjust and that wouldnt be the problem? maybe?

I was thinking of taking it back to the shop that flashed me and having them do it again or Wait
I'm gonna call GIAC.

but please throw some knowledge my way if you have it. I'm listening.

So I just talked with the GIAC dealer and they said it is 99% the K&N filter "sweating" on the MAF.
bring it in and we will hook the scanner up to it to be sure.

so we will see.

I have had a similar thing happen recently where my engine light went on not too long after installing the Neuspeed P-flow, which uses the K&N. I have had the error cleared a couple of times, but it keeps coming back. The filter "sweating" was never suggested as a possible problem. Please post if you find the solution. I'll do the same.

What is the code??? That is the best place to start.

It might be something totally different, or you didn't plug something back in all the way, loose gas cap, who knows until you read the code???

Cheers!

well I finally went and bought a code scanner at the local parts store...
and when I leave the store to go back home the check engine light doesnt come on?

I thought you had to clear the code for it to go off?
so I hook the scanner up when i get home and it gives me PO301 cylinder 1 misfire. but still no check engine light when I start the car and drive it.

whats up with that. can the computer solve the problem and turn the light off by its self?
anyway I will keep you posted with any changes.

oh i guess it wasnt the maf sensor after all.

How many miles on the car and when were the plugs changed last? If it has been a long time, then I'd replace the plugs, otherwise, it's time to replace the coil pack.

BTW, the CEL will clear itself after several starts if the problem doesn't occur again. However, the code will be stored so you can read it on the scanner. If you are under warranty and the maintenance plan, then wait for the code to come back and take it to the dealer tobe fixed for free.

Cheers!
