Default Got chipped (GIAC), have some questions though

First off, love the GIAC chip, makes a huge difference (paid 650$ for the chip and install).

To people who want to know the diff in feel between stock and chip, feels the same until 2500rpm then it's like it gets a good kick in the pants

Now my questions:
The place I got to do the chip said that I should use 92 octane gas? Is this right, I've been reading that people say I should use at least 93octane???

I hear getting a better intake and exhuast will really add to the performance I get with the chip (like 10hp), this sound right? Should I go for a coldair, or just KN filter?

I need to do a DV soon, and may do the snub mount thing as well.

Wow - $650 for chip and install? Man, that's pricey. You should have checked the forums and got a SpeedTuning chip instead. I'd really like to drive a car that has a GIAC chip in it to do a comparison between the two.

But as long as your happy, then it's money well spent.

the 2 chips are NOT the same

and yeah 650 is a little steep. its 400 for a dbc chip, 500 for a dbw flash. the dbc just needs some soldering to put in, shouldn't be more than 50. and for dbw it takes 5 min and a laptop, so there should be little to no charge.

umm... The guy mentioned that when I change my plugs I should come to him and get some better performance plugs.... But he didn't mention if he changed or gapped the plugs in there.... Looks like he's getting a phone call on Monday
