Hey, I have a 1998 Audi A6 and I wanted to know if the 98's come with the feature of where you can roll up all the windows with my remote (holding lock) and open them all (holding unlock) with my remote.. My friend has a 99 A8, and a 00 323ci with those features. Do 98's come with that because my windows do work with the remote.?
Hey Im pretty sure they don't. My Lexus did the same thing, you hold UNLOCK down on the key and it would open every window in the car. My 03 2.7T only rolls window up/down with the key in the door lock. Maybe the 4.2's have that feature??? I dunno.

ya i kind of forgot who it was but theres this admin on this forum and hes in sac... if thats you i wanted to ask you (im pretty sure you had the vag com and all the programs if i can remember correctly) i also live in sac maybe i can stop by and you can do the programing for me (for the auto windows).. i can pay you, pm me what you would charge. and maybe i can have other stuff done at the same time, like pull some codes and stuff...

Hey my shop in STL lets me roll up and they will do it for free as long as they are not using it! Idk for sure, but i think if you do business with a shop (I got a chip installed) they will let you use it for free! I would deffinatly ask around. I have used their 2 times now

No, it is in St. Louis.. Sorry I guess i can't help you, If you plan on using a Vag a lot they are $200 off Ross-tech.com. This will let you change features, Check CEL codes and other good stuff. Idk if you plan on using it alot its a good option.

Deffinatly, thats why i havnt bought one. If you ever get your hands on one and do the windows try doing the transmisson code too if you have a tip. You change the code from 00002 or 00102 to 00032 or 00132. this will allow you to hold first gear while in tip mode.
If you're just wanting to play around with the windows, read fault codes, reprogram the door locks, etc. the free (limited) version of VAG-COM works just fine with an ebay VAG cable for $10.

IMHO, if you're planning on doing any kind of real work on your ride, you almost *need* the vag-com. While I'm no pro mechanic, I do most of my own work, and without the vag, I would have pulled my hair out more than a few times. It's very, very well worth the 200 bucks, and it'll easily pay for itself the first time you get a wacky-ass CEL light that you can fix yourself for 5 bucks and 20 minutes worth of work (like a vacuum line that gets a hole in it).
